Automation for convenience, reliability and safety

Mechatronic automation would be unthinkable without precisely matched drive technology. Convenience, reliability and safety are immediately invalidated as soon as the drive system does not meet the respective technical requirements. So there are always two sides to the adaptations - either adaptation of the drive technology or the application.

3D Printing—from mounting brackets to protective caps on the motor

For nearly ten years, we have been using modern 3D printing technologies to complement our internal production processes as well as for customer-specific motor modifications. Whereas certain components, mounts, or housings previously had to be produced in-house at great expense or purchased from external suppliers, JBW can now operate significantly faster, more efficiently, and more cost-effectively using 3D printing processes.

Higher Quality and Customized Solutions for Customers

The use of 3D printing processes makes it possible to develop drive solutions that are precisely tailored to customer specifications, even for highly complex applications.

The technical possibilities have increased significantly thanks to advances in 3D printing technologies. Both the materials and the manufacturing tolerances are constantly improving and can withstand even long-term applications.

Engineering expertise from Bavaria: We are constantly advancing our processes

What began many years ago with initial experiments has become an integral part of JBW. Our engineers use state-of-the-art 3D printing capabilities to achieve the best results for our customers.

The use of 3D printing allows us to solve even more customer-specific challenges. In doing so, we are constantly expanding our expertise in this field, thereby underscoring our engineering expertise.

Motor Modification Using 3D Printing: Applications

Mechanical demonstrator manufactured using 3D printing

At trade shows, we enjoy showing interested visitors how an electric motor works on the inside.

With our mechanical demonstrator, which we manufactured using 3D printing, you can see the inner workings (sun gears) of a planetary gear motor.

Mounts for a drone motor

We used 3D printing technology to produce special mounts for our drone motors. The mounts are used during functional tests and for presentation purposes.

3D Printing for Mounts in the In-House Test Bench

In our in-house test facility, we perform various engine tests and measurements:

  • Torque & rotation speed (linear load)
  • Rated power
  • Temperatures

Motors with complex geometries

To facilitate the processing and assembly of our motors, we use 3D-printed mounts that are precisely tailored to the size and shape of each motor.

3D-Printed Mounts for Sensors

Using 3D printing technology, we designed, developed, and manufactured an innovative temperature sensor mount.
